It is a primary focus of our Council to provide educational opportunities to the CUPE members in our area. We attempt to offer an educational component at each membership meeting. Recent topics have been Bill 168, Bill C45, Labour Mobility Act, information on Trades and apprenticeships and information on Violence in the Workplace, with guest presenters from CUPE National, CUPE Ontario Division, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Health and members at large who are knowledgeable in specific areas.
Our educational workshops (commonly known as schools) provide members an opportunity to learn, while networking with activists from other CUPE Locals.
If you have suggestions for workshops and educational opportunities, please e-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will attempt to co-ordinate your requests with requests from other locals.
Watch for upcoming educationals to be posted to this area.
